3 Weapons of Daily Personal Warfare

Part 3

The Third Weapon of Warfare is Peace

My-yoke

Everyone lives in a fallen world with challenges that you face on your left and your right. Sometimes you have smooth sailing but remember you have a real enemy that does not want you to reflect Christ. Therefore, you must apply daily strategies for your personal spiritual warfare.
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8

3 Weapons of Daily Personal Warfare are as follows:
1. Obedience.
2. Humility
3. Peace

When you are in Christ your burdens are transferred to Him and you allow His strength and abilities to sustain you. In Christ Jesus you can drop your heavy load and walk in peace. Therefore, peace is your third weapon of warfare.

You are a child of the King and have His authority, His provision, and His power. At the mention of His name and the application of His blood you can operate in your authority. Peace is established in your emotions through your confidence in God and His promises. The Church today, weary and struggling, needs to return to Jesus and re-enter God’s rest, believe Him, and walk in His peace.
Paul taught us in Romans 16:20 (NIV), “That the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.”

When you know the character of Christ and who you are in Him you can remain in peace; your confidence is not in what you see with your eyes but in God’s promises. When you know you have authority over something, you can face it without fear, anxiety, or worry.
You can confront challenges in your relationships, finances, or emotional health, and respond with the knowledge that the victory is yours.

You will know Christ’s victory in its fullness only when you stop reacting to your circumstances through your human understanding and your flesh. When you maintain peace and trust in God during personal challenges, you apply a crushing blow to fear and oppression.
“…in no way alarmed by your opponents– which is a sign of destruction for them, but of salvation for you, and that too, from God.”
Philippians 1:28 (NIV)

In your battles obedience guards you and keeps your feet on a straight path. Humility continually has you looking to God and His principles with a willingness to walk in repentance and stay in agreement with Him. It doesn’t always mean that you see the outcome that you are hoping or praying for but even if your answers are not yet manifested in your sight you trust God.

Let us take a lesson from Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who in Daniel 3:18 said,
“If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. “But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”

This is the attitude of obedience, humility, and peace that destroys your enemies and crushes them under your feet. When you display these characteristics your spiritual enemies and all those watching your life see Christ in you. You are walking in the fullness and authority by maintaining peace, thankfulness, and a positive, hopeful attitude that puts your trust in Christ. Having peace is proof of your victory.

Jesus gave us this example in Matthew 8:23-27 when He rebuked the elements and had peace during a violent storm. Do you have peace in the storms that rage against you in your life? Even surrounded by His executioners, Jesus faced Pilate’s court in total peace, not speaking a word in His defense. He was focused on doing the will of God in spite of the cost. Jesus focused on the victory and not the battle.

Satan attacks with fear, doubt, and worry, which are the very things that steal your peace. When you face adversity with peace, you are walking in Christ’s victory. Your peace represents your immovable stance upon God’s Word in perfect submission to the will of God. You are walking as a warrior child of God in full obedience, with humility, and perfect peace.
“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in
you.” Isaiah 26:3 (NIV)
